burning cities

I see burning cities in your eyes
a catastrophe 
a holocaust
those flashes of fire
rising up
raging, and enraged
wanting to be saved
for the thousandth time
but you keep on drowning
in your own flames.

I miss you everyday. 
The only way I've been trying to get to you 
is through my words.
And I will continue on doing that, 
for as long as I live. 

Beneath My Pages

Fate has taken you away from me

Yet the perfume of your body 

still lingers across the room,

the huskiness of your voice 

still resonates in between the walls,

as for my love to you;

they are still alive beneath my pages.

I call upon the wind 

to carry away my words

so they reach you

translucent and pure

for they are still alive

The Old me

I'm mourning for the old me that is lost
I'm mourning for the old me that is gone
I'm mourning for the old me that used to know myself better
I'm mourning for the old me that wanted nothing but happiness
I'm mourning for the old me that used to see the good in everything
I'm mourning for the old me that used to think love was always the right answer
I'm mourning for the old me that had a purpose
I'm mourning for the old me that would be disappointed today
I'm mourning for the me that is trapped inside this monster

Out of everyone that was leaving,
I thought you'd be the last one to go.
Yet, always doing what you do best,
you had to prove me wrong.

When I hear my favourite sound of your laughter
and I turn to my right to see the way you squint your eyes
laughing to a joke that I didn't think was funny,
yet I couldn't help but laugh along
as I thought to myself,
what could possibly ruin this moment of utmost happiness?

How foolish was I,
oh how foolish was I
To not realize then that everything, 
Everything could ruin it.

A friend in need is a friend indeed

Friends are certainly the family you choose for yourself. While choosing, you gotta choose wisely.

Which one are you? And which one have you chosen for yourself?

A friend who is undoubtedly a family
A friend who cares for you like no one else
A friend who constantly checks up on you
A friend who is a sister
A friend who is a brother
A friend who is no longer with you but you know his loyalty remains
A friend who you don't need to talk to everyday but the bond stays as strong
A friend who always has your back
A friend who always picks up the call
A friend who calls only to ask for help
A friend who keeps on wanting to make your life decisions for you
A friend who wants to control you
A friend who makes you feel continuously at fault
A friend whose only intention is to bring you down
A friend who is always there to help
A friend who is always there when you are hungry
A friend who is always there to make you happy
A friend who gives you happiness by just being present
A friend who won't let you shed a tear
A friend who struggles but won't let it affect you
A friend who is still searching for the true meaning of life
A friend who is always supportive
A friend who loves you like no other
A friend who will never let you go


I think we are all guilty and innocent all at once. I wrote this as a reminder to all, especially myself - to be better :)
