Betrayal

A person that I thought I knew became a stranger
A place that I used to call home became so foreign

I wanted to see myself in the mirror but I see no reflection
Have I left myself too far that I can't find it anymore

Pictures that I captured are now smudged
Memories that I always had in my head are now blurry

The flower that I used to pluck is now full of thorns
The beach that I used to visit has abandoned its shore

Roads that I used to take are now barbed
Music that I always listened to is now muted

The only way to leave is to never return
And the only thing that I can rely on is the words that I've written

We have no power over things that have been written
Nor do we have knowledge over things that will happen
So why don't we just focus on matters that are important
And fix those that are broken

We're so different yet so similar

You do not understand

Its sad when you think you know me when you don't. You don't know when silence occupy myself, thats when I need someone to lean on to the most. Its frustrating when I could just fake a smile and you'd believe it. When I could just laugh out loud but you'd never hear the screaming inside my head. Its painful when I thought you'd understand me the most out of all, but you don't. When I thought you'd stay but you chose to leave. The most painful it is when you doubt how much you mean to me.
